Birzulis, a leading civil and structural engineering consultancy with offices in Sydney and Newcastle, is seeking a full-time Associate Level Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career with a company that values innovative thinking and efficient engineering solutions.

Role Description

The Associate Structural Engineer will be responsible for managing projects and project teams, liaising with clients, business development and also being on the tools conducting structural analysis and calculations, preparing engineering reports, and drafting detailed structural drawings. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with other engineers and architects, participating in project meetings, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to the design and development of civil and structural engineering projects. Knowledge in use of AutoCAD or Revit is not required.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering concepts
  • Proficiency in Structural Analysis and performing engineering Calculations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills
  • Professional registration or eligibility for registration is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in the education, aged care, public buildings, or hospitality sectors is advantageous

About the Role:

As a Trainee Structural Revit Draftsperson, you’ll be immersed in our collaborative approach to finding the most efficient engineering solutions. You’ll receive comprehensive training in structural drafting using Revit while working on exciting projects across education, aged care, and hospitality sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn and develop proficiency in Revit software for structural drafting
  • Assist senior draftspersons and engineers in producing detailed structural drawings
  • Participate in our collaborative project pod structure, contributing to efficient design solutions
  • Prepare and modify drawings under supervision
  • Support documentation for projects ranging from $10-20 million
  • Maintain drawing standards and quality control processes
  • Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement and efficiency

Who You Are:

  • Currently completing or recently completed an Engineering Drafting TAFE course

Birzulis, an established civil and structural engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Civil Engineer. Be part of a team that’s redefining engineering excellence through efficient, innovative solutions across the hospitality, aged care, and education sectors. 

About the Role: 

As an Intermediate Civil Engineer in our Newcastle office, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering efficient engineering solutions that save our clients time, resources, and money. Working within our collaborative pod structure, you’ll contribute to projects that demand both technical excellence and creative problem-solving. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design and document civil engineering solutions for projects ranging from $10-20 million. 
  • Lead civil engineering components within multi-disciplinary project teams. 
  • Collaborate with structural engineers to deliver integrated, efficient solutions.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide responsive on-site support.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, and reports. 
  • Review and optimise designs to achieve maximum efficiency without compromising quality. 
  • Mentor junior engineers and drafting staff. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with architects, builders, and project managers. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 4-7 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in consultancy. 
  • Strong experience in hospitality, aged care, or education sectors.
  • Proficiency in stormwater, water quantity, water quality, pavement design, internal grading designs and earthworks. Experience in minor public work upgrades is also highly regarded.  
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and design tools, including Drains and Music. Proficiency in Civil3D or 12D will be highly regarded. 
  • Current knowledge of Australian standards and building codes.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical, efficient solutions.
  • Strong communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct site visits.
